Record Players

Vinyl, the original audio format! Many music-lovers swear by LPs, and find that there’s just something primally captivating about vinyl.

Turntables (or record players) are the business end of a vinyl system, where the stylus translates the grooves pressed into the disc into an audio signal. This signal is brought up to line level by a phono preamp, before being passed on to the main amplifier.
Critical issues for best vinyl listening are the quality of the components in the chain (such as cartridges), accurate set-up, and keeping the turntable isolated from unwanted external vibrations. Click here to see the set-up of a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon turntable.
When you’re choosing a turntable, you want to make sure you find one that’s perfect for you! So give us a call, or pop in for a chat and demo in our Christchurch or Wellington branch.
