The new MIX cartridge from Ortofon’s Concorde line has a lot of features for its price point. The MIX’s spherical styli and solid cantilevers provide reasonable output, high-quality sound, and solid tracking for any style of music. The Concorde MIX also offers transparent sound across the entire audio spectrum.
At 6 mV output, 20 Hz – 20 khz and 2 – 4 g tracking, the specs are firmly in the middle of the pack for DJ cartridges. However, what is not in the middle of the pack is the tracking ability. At 100μm, the Mix, on paper at least, should stick as well if not better than the previous scratch king, the Ortofon Q.bert model.
